Microchipping

Sometimes our pets become lost or stolen. By microchipping your pet you are ensuring that if anything were to happen to them you would have the ability of finding them quickly. Tags are good way to ensure that you are reunited with your pet if it becomes lost or stolen as the information you provide on the tag will lead your pet back to you. However, tags can come off or be removed meaning that you will have a harder time finding your pet in case of emergency. We are here to offer microchipping services for your pet to ensure that you do not have this problem.

Microchipping is the most effective way of identification of your pet. The process involves placing a tiny chip contained in surgical grade glass that is implanted beneath the skin and scanned at any time to provide a unique identification number of your pet. The chip is about the size of a large grain of rice and contains electronics that contain a unique identification code. No personal information is held on the chip and cannot be reprogrammed. The code on the chip registered with pet owner's emergency contact information. Pets with microchips can be detected through scanners available at local veterinarian clinics, animal shelters and animal control departments. If your pet is to become lost or stolen, you should contact Encino Park Veterinary clinic immediately or a nearby animal shelter.
